Max Allegri says Juventus will still qualify for the Champions League, despite only managing one win in their last nine games. The Bianconeri slumped to another defeat, this time a 1-0 loss to Lazio, but Allegri is adamant that the club will still qualify for next seasons Champions League:
“The numbers indicate that we are not performing well at the moment. I believe we need a lot of calmness; fortunately, we have a five-point lead over fifth place. We need to work to achieve our Champions League objective, and we will achieve it. We made some technical mistakes; it’s a tough moment, but we need to overcome it.”
Regarding qualification in the Champions League: “We need to believe because we still have a points advantage. We mishandled two balls; there’s little to talk about. We should be angry and disappointed about this defeat.”
Allegri continued: “We’ve dropped many points along the way. The group of players is extraordinary; they should be proud of this performance. Things will change.”
Finally, on Chiesa and the fans: “They returned from America, they’ve traveled, and we have another game on Tuesday. At that moment, I preferred to field another player. The fans are supporting us, and they must continue to do so; these moments happen, I’ve experienced many. The players have the strength to overcome them.”
