Max Allegri believes his Juventus team showing improvement in both defence and attack following their 2-0 Turin Derby win. The Bianconeri had the best chances of the match and took the lead through Federico Gatti before Arek Milik sealed the result in the second half. Speaking with Sky Sport Italia after the match, Allegri explained how he had prepared his team to play without leading scorers Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic:
“In the first half we had prepared the match to be aggressive but Torino were good and we never managed to catch them. Then we put ourselves in an orderly manner with a 4-4-2 and from there we struggled less, we were more aggressive and from the 25th minute the match was on the rise. Then Milik gave more fluidity to the game but Miretti made himself available and the first half was like that.
“We’re better in defence but also good in the attacking phase, defensively the team is finding a good balance, the defenders inside the area did well, something that didn’t happen in Bergamo because we conceded a few chances. On the league table? It’s a satisfaction but the path is still long, to return to normal at Juventus is to win games, turn the page and be happy but think about the next one.
“Now we have the break then a great game against AC Milan and we have to prepare in the best possible way when everyone will return. Many Italian players have been called up, even Miretti and Fagioli will get there one day and I’m very happy about that”.
“For us it’s also important the atmosphere that was there tonight and we need it, when you haven’t won for three years coming back to this atmosphere helps us a lot. Yildiz is young but he is smart, he knows what to do when he has the ball. I’m happy for Kean’s call-up to the national team, he was angry not to have scored tonight but he gave a good performance”.
