Max Allegri says Juventus just need to focus on their targets for the season, ignoring speculation about his future. The Bianconeri face a tough challenge when they travel to city rivals Torino for the latest edition of the Derby della Mole. Speaking to the gathered press, Allegri kept focus on the match in hand, playing down the rumours about his future at the club:
“It will be an important match for all of us, because the Champions League is fundamental for Juve, both on an image and economic level. We cannot stay two years out of Europe’s top competition, so now 35-40 fundamental days begin, in which points are extremely important and in which we must fight for victories, to reach our objectives. It’s nice to get to this point in the season, where the adrenalin is high.
“In recent years a great job has been done to add young players to the squad, and this will continue in future. Criticism? I always listen to it and take my cues from it, if it is constructive, it is always welcome: I know we can improve and we work to always do so.
“The Italian teams are doing well in Europe, and not only this season; we must be confident and continue to work to improve. We want to be in the Champions League next year, it’s a factor that makes all the difference in a club.
“Winning helps: it was important to win against Fiorentina, in a direct clash, to get out of this difficult moment: we must have continuity, Torino will not be an easy opponent and they have their own objectives, Juric’s teams put you under a lot of pressure. Me? I’m honoured to be so close to a legendary coach in terms of Derby victories; as for tomorrow, I have two doubts that I still have to resolve: Kostic or Iling on the left and Cambiaso or Weah on the right.”
