Max Allegri maintains that Juve’s objective for the season is to qualify for next seasons Champions League ‘for strategic and economic reasons’. The Bianconeri look to be the only realistic contenders to Inter, who are hunting a historic second silver star. Speaking ahead of Juve’s match against Salernitana, Allegri maintained that the goal for the season is to make it to the top four:
“Returning to Salerno is never easy. After the victory in Verona, they still have many hopes of reaching salvation. Tomorrow will be a different match compared to the Italian Cup.
“Nicolussi Caviglia should play as midfielder. Chiesa or Yildiz? They have continuity because whoever plays from the start or whoever takes over are always important players. For us these are important changes, especially in today’s football. Cambiaso has a fever, he is unlikely to be in the match.”
“As for Kean, he hasn’t done anything in training yet, he’s still behind, so we hope to have him back as soon as possible. We’re halfway through the season and tomorrow we’ll close the first half of the season: we need to finish well” .
“We have to continue working, physically we are reasonably well, even mentally. We must not get excited about the match the other evening, the important thing is to never let our guard down.
“Tomorrow is another test and Thursday will be the Frosinone match, we have to train well every day.
“Huijsen? The club has made a choice together with the family and we will see if it will be the best choice. Yildiz will hardly be able to be a midfielder, at least not at the moment.
“Inter have 45 points and have the possibility of turning at 48, the projection is 96. We must maintain the gap at the back. Juventus, I repeat, must reach the Champions League for technical and economic reasons.
“In football, anything can happen. Tomorrow I think Bremer will return, Danilo has need to play because he’s been out. Gatti doesn’t need to rest much. Tomorrow Vlahovic will be back.”
“Vialli? I remember him with great affection, he perfectly embodied the spirit of Juventus.”
