Allegri: “Juventus have earned these 62 points”

Start

Max Allegri says Juventus have earned their 62 points following their 1-0 victory over Fiorentina: “We work every day to improve.” The Bianconeri had looked to be struggling for form of late, managing just one win in nine matches, but a goal from Federico Gatti was enough to secure them a vital three points. Speaking with DAZN post-match, Allegri reflected on a hard-fought win and what changed in the second-half:

“We work every day to improve, it had been a while since we won, and playing against Fiorentina was not easy. In the first half, we didn’t risk anything and had a goal disallowed, then it’s true that in the end, we risked drawing. We are trying to improve and collect as many points as possible from here until the end.”

“Why didn’t we dominate the whole game? In football, two teams take the field, we are the Bianconeri and they are the Viola,” he continued. “Playing 90 minutes like the first half with Fiorentina, who hardly ever shoot on goal, is tough. We try not to let our opponents shoot on goal, sometimes we succeed, sometimes we don’t.”

On the importance of a coach in the season: “I don’t know how much impact a coach can have or how much a club can. We have made 62 points and we deserve these, we made a mistake at an important moment of the season. We have many young players who can improve, it’s one thing to manage the ball at 30 years old and another at 18.”
