Allegri: ‘I want to be back in the Champions League with Juve next year’

Start

Juventus coach Max Allegri says his aim is to be back in the Champions League after next season, following Juve’s 3-1 win friendly over Real Madrid. The Bianconeri are on tour in the USA at present and have just the league to focus on in the 2023-24 campaign. Speaking after the win, Allegri touched on the positive performances from his team and his hopes for the upcoming season:

“We finished this period of work well, against a very strong team that has great technique and just as much physicality. We played well the first 25 minutes attacking forward, then it was normal that they took over. We, however, defended well, we could have done better on some lost balls in the second half however I am happy. More than the heat here in Florida we suffered from the humidity, however, we quickly settled in: the game was played at a good pace.”

“We started a path, unfortunately we are out of the European cups despite the fact that we placed third and would have had the right to participate in the Champions League. We have to do without it and we have to be more focused on the league, to make sure that we can participate again in the most important cup in 2024-25.”

“McKennie played a good game today and I am very happy. Weah was a little more tired, but he is a guy who has good qualities and will be very useful to the team.”
