Juventus defender Alex Sandro says it will be hard to imagine his life without the Bianconeri: ‘Juve will always be in my heart.’ The Brazilian full-back is set to leave Turin at the end of the season, and speaking with the Lega Serie A YouTube channel, he recounted his time with the Old Lady:
“When the proposal from Juve arrived, I felt a kind of thrill because I would play for one of the most important clubs in the world,” recounts the Brazilian defender.
“Of the seven trophies won, the one I cherish the most is definitely the first because it’s where it all began. Today, I always talk about it with the guys; the most important thing is not the trophies. For life, there are all the people I have met and worked with. The day I leave, I won’t just leave behind trophies but friends, teammates, coaches, kit men, physiotherapists, doctors, everyone. The most important trophy I have at Juve is all of this. My first goal? The first goal with the Juventus shirt is always the most special and significant. A low cross from Dani Alves, I controlled it and turned with my left foot, I looked like Adriano, the Emperor…”
However, the moment of farewell to the white and black colours could soon arrive: “My family and I know that a farewell or a goodbye will come, who knows. There are so many stories, so many moments; it’s hard to imagine my life without Juve. When I talk about Juventus, my eyes will always sparkle. I have been very well; Juve will always be in my heart.”
There is also room for heartfelt words about Massimiliano Allegri: “He is a very important figure in my career. I learned a lot with him, both on and off the field. He is someone who always wants the best, not only from the players but from people. Sometimes he says that making mistakes is normal, but he wants to see people who are willing to do things, who make mistakes wanting to do things. He respects that, the value of people before the footballer. I admire him a lot for this.”
