Ajax closing in on Tahirovic deal with Roma

Start

Roma youngster Benjamin Tahirovic is set to leave the club this summer, with Dutch side Ajax his most likely destination. The Giallorossi find themselves in a tricky financial situation, needing to bring in €30m in player sales to help balance their books as part of Financial Fair Play.

Sky Sport Italia report that Roma director Tiago Pinto is at work to bring in revenue in the coming weeks, and has agreed to sacrifice promising youngster Tahirovic in an effort to raise funds.

The Bosnian midfielder has received many requests in recent days both from Italian clubs (Sassuolo, Genoa and Salernitana), but also from foreign clubs, such as Marseille and especially Ajax.

Sky Sport and transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano report that the most likely destination for the youngster is Ajax, with Romano suggesting the deal could be sealed next week.
