AC Milan are preparing to offer Tijjani Reijnders a contract extension to ward off interest from Premier League clubs Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. The Dutch midfielder has been in exceptional form this season, particularly impressing in Milan’s recent match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Calciomercato report how Reijnders’ performances have not gone unnoticed, with former Dutch football legend Frank Rijkaard stating, “Reijnders is on the right path to becoming one of the best midfielders in the world.” His partnership with Fofana in midfield is blossoming, promising a bright future for Milan’s midfield.
The 25-year-old’s rapid development has caught the eye of several top clubs. Manchester City and Tottenham have been monitoring his progress for months. However, Milan are determined to secure Reijnders’ long-term future at the club.
According to the report, Milan are planning to offer Reijnders a new contract that would keep him at the club until 2030. The proposed deal would see his current salary of €1.7 million per year more than double to €3.5 million net per season.
Milan’s CEO Giorgio Furlani has already initiated talks with Reijnders’ father, who also acts as his agent. There is strong optimism within the club that an agreement will be reached soon.
Reijnders has shown remarkable improvement in his goal-scoring ability, netting four times in his last three matches – as many as he scored in his previous 60 appearances for Milan.
