Sergio Busquets believes Roma have to have a ‘clear idea’ and ‘personality’ against Sevilla in the Europa League final. The Barcelona midfielder spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of tomorrow’s match and pointed out that Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho always makes it to the final and also shared his thoughts on Luis Enrique being linked with Napoli:
Mourinho is in a final again, with Roma in the Europa League.
“Exactly. He is always there. They suffered with Leverkusen but I repeat, there is an idea. More so: ‘Ok, for me defending is easier than attacking’, but this involves the difficulty of having to convince the players to make a huge sacrifice. Falling back for 90 minutes is complicated, everyone has to work, collaborate, stick together, suffer. Persuading Eto’o to play full-back is not so obvious. You must have clear ideas and personality”.
You have played with Luis Enrique, at Barcelona with the 2015 treble, and in the national team: your last game with Spain was that of 1,000 passes against Morocco in the World Cup. The tiqui taca requiem?
“Against very closed teams you have two options: cross into the box for two strong forwards or wingers who beat the opponents, like Vinicius or Dembélé. If you don’t have these players it becomes difficult. We engulfed them. But I see Luis Enrique doing very well: he is a coach who has very very clear ideas, a leader who explains and illustrates things well ”.
There is talk of him for Napoli….
“Yes, I read. But Napoli with Spalletti has set the bar very high. He won Serie A, reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. It’s not easy to overcome or even just maintain this level.”
