Sky Sport Italia claim that Juventus are unlikely to renew Angel Di Maria’s contract this summer. The Argentine winger arrived in Turin on a one-year deal last summer, but a string of solid performances had led to reports that he would be renewing with the Bianconeri for another year. The player himself admitted that he was in talks with the club over a contract extension, saying he was happy in Turin, as were his family.
Sky Sport Italia’s Luca Marchetti claims that it is ‘difficult, if not impossible’ for Di Maria to renew with Juventus, given the costs involved as the 35-year-old earns a reported €7 million per season.
Marchetti also touched on the future of Dusan Vlahovic. who was linked with a move to Chelsea earlier in the day. According to the Sky journalist, Juve would ‘listen to offers for Vlahovic, regardless of if they qualify for the Champions League.’
Marchetti also stated that:
“Italian teams have to take into consideration the offers that come for their players, especially if they are very high. It is clear that in order to get Juventus to capitulate on Vlahovic a big offer has to come, because let’s remember that Juventus paid him €80 million , bonus plus, bonus minus, and cannot risk making a capital loss.”
