Former Roma and Lazio sporting director Walter Sabatini believes the Inter-Milan derby in the Champions League will be a ‘tragedy’, but whoever wins it, will ‘lift the trophy’. The two Milanese teams will face one another next week in the first leg of the Euroderby, and speaking with RAI Sport (as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport), Sabatini shared his thoughts on the upcoming match and why he believes it will be a ‘redemption’ for Italian football:
“It will be a tragedy, because the team that is left out will pay an unbearable duty. However, tragedy is also the beauty of football.”
“Inter or Milan will win the Champions League, I have no doubt. It will be the ultimate redemption of our football. I admire Serie A, I think it is the most competitive league and with the best coaches.”
