Inter to part ways with DigitalBits

Start

Inter have decided to part ways with shirt sponsor Digitalbits and removed their logo from their shirts for todays match against Lazio. The move comes after the blockchain company defaulted on a series of payments to both the Nerazzurri and Roma, resulting in the removal of their logo from match days shirts and a suspension of the partnership.

Tuttosport report that Digitalbits failed to make payments to Inter for any of the 2022/23 season, leading the club to remove the companies logo from their shirts and advertising hoardings around the Stadio San Siro.

The blockchain company are thought to have defaulted on close to €85m in sponsorship fees, and no effort has been made to make up on the missed payments, despite Digitabits changing ownership earlier this year.

Inter are now reportedly looking to companies in the Middle East (Turkish and Qatar Airlines two among the names circulated) as potential new sponsors with talks reportedly having taken place for several months.

Following the news, Digitabits released a brief statement of their own regarding the sitation:

“Digitalbits foundation has undertaken a proactive process for the redefinition of partnerships that will involve the Digitalbits brand in the future, in line with the objectives of economic sustainability and use of blockchain technology.

“The sponsorship contracts regarding the exposure of the Digitalbits brand with the football teams Roma and Inter were concluded with Zytara labs. Digitalbits foundation represents the community and ecosystem aimed at promoting blockchain technology and its use.”
