Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia apologised to the clubs fans following their elimination from the Champions League. The Georgian international created a number of great scoring opportunities but failed to find the net in the Partenopei’s 1-1 draw with Milan. The result buts the Rossoneri through after their 1-0 win at San Siro last week, despite Napoli being the overwhelming favourites to progress from the tie. Kvaratskhelia took to Instagram to apologise to the Neapolitan faithful following the disappointing result, saying:
“It is hard for me to see your eyes full of tears, realizing that I couldn’t bring you happiness. I will do my best to learn from today’s experience.
“I am deeply sorry and absolutely grateful for your support that I feel every second! I love you all and promise that we will come back stronger! There are many matches ahead, so the dream goes on..”
Napoli are still on course to win the Serie A title in the coming weeks, having created an almost unassailable 14 point lead at the top of the table, with just 8 rounds of the season left. Kvaratskhelia has played a vital role in their campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in his debut season with the club.
