Napoli dominated and scored a late consolation goal through, but it’s Milan who progress to the Champions League quarter-finals thanks to an Olivier Giroud goal.

Meret: Brilliant stop to deny Giroud from the penalty spot before making another vital stop on a Giroud shot. 7.5/10

Di Lorenzo: A poor first half, being burned for pace by Leao before picking up a stupid booking for an obvious foul. 6.0/10

Rrahmani: Caught out for pace on a few occasions, not least when Leao danced past him to set up the Milan opener.   6.0/10

Juan Jesus: Very shaky at times, especially when Milan broke with pace. 6.0/10

Rui: Excellent free-kick, just wide of the far post. Unfortunately injured and had to come off with 30 mins gone after conceding the penalty. N/A

Ndombele: Really encouraging opening half, at the heart of the Napoli midfield push into Milan’s half. Had to do better on the Milan goal though. 6.0/10

Lobotka: An engine in the Napoli midfield, but failed to help them over the line. 6.0/10

Zielinski: Disappointing that he couldn’t make more of an impact on the match. 5.5/10

Politano: Started really brightly, forcing Hernandez back. Unfortunately injured and had to be subbed out. N/A

Osimhen: Strong start and he had the ball in the net at the end of the half, which was ruled out for handball. Scored the late consolation goal. 7.0/10

Kvaratskhelia: Made some good cuts into the Milan box, but it was all too easily snuffed out by the Rossoneri. Had a golden chance at the start of the second half that went over the bar before doing the same moments later. The best Napoli player on the pitch. 7.5/10

Milan

Maignan: Tested multiple times in the opening exchanges and came out the better. Made a sensational save to deny Napoli from the penalty spot. 7.5/10

Calabria: A captain’s performance in the opening 45′, at the heart of Milan’s rearguard action, some great tackles and blocks. 6.5/10

Kjaer: Seemed to have the measure of Osimhen in the first 45′, good in the air and in marking his man. 6.5/10

Tomori: Had a tough night of it but made a number of good clearances to ease the Napoli pressure. gave away the penalty, which was an unfortunate blot on an otherwise strong performance. 6.0/10

Theo Hernandez: Struggled a bit with Politano and picked up a needless booking. 6.0/10

Krunic: Formed a strong partnership with Tonali to keep snuffing out the Napoli pressure. 6.5/10

Tonali: Some really solid plays on occasion, going toe-to-toe with N’dombele and Lobotka. 6.0/10

Brahim Diaz: 6.0/10

Bennacer: Won his share of duels in the centre of the pitch and helped string together some solid passages of play. 6.5/10

Leao: Forced the tackle that won the early penalty, made a vital interception at the back to deny Lozano in what looked a clear goalscoring chance. A truly spectacular run to set up the Milan opening goal, outstanding. 7.0/10

Giroud: Likely could have done better with the penalty but made amends by scoring the opener with an easy finish. 6.5/10
