Start

Lazio owner Claudio Lotito and former Roma President James Pallotta are among those under under investigation for capital gains in the latest of a series of investigations into ‘plusvalenza’. Italy’s financial police conducted searches at Roma, Lazio and Salernitana headquarters on Wednesday as part of the new investigation.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that as well as Pallotta, current Roma owners Dan Friedkin and his son Dan are also under investigation, having acquired the club from Pallotta in 2020, with the focus being transfers completed between 2017 until 2021.

Roma are being investigated directly, along with nine others that have held a role at the club at some point, including former directors Umberto Gandini, Guido Fienga and Mauro Baldissoni and current director Giorgio Francia.

Alongside Roma, their city rivals Lazio are being investigated by the Tivoli prosecutor, with Lotito and club director Igli Tare among those in focus. The case will also look at Salernitana as Lotito was president during the time of the suspected transfers that have been bought to the attention of the financial police.
