Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne spoke to the press ahead of Belgium’s match against Sweden in the opening fixture of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. Tuttosport shared the video of De Bruyne discussing Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the 41-year-old got called up to the Swedish national team. Ibrahimovic had originally stopped playing on the international stage after Euro 2016 but made his return in 2021. After being sidelined for close to a year, Zlatan made his return for the Rossoneri when he was brought on against Atalanta at the end of February and will now make his comeback for Sweden. De Bruyne also spoke about the quality of the rest of the Swedish side.
“Zlatan is top. He’s class. I think if you are still playing at that level at that age says how he is as a person, as a player, as a professional. So he is an example for a lot of people plus the quality combined. It’s nothing but positives for him and I think Sweden will be very compact, I think probably they will play 4-4-2 with Isak, Kulusevski and Forsberg and the other guys at the back there will keep it tight. So I expect them to be a tough team anyway but I don’t see a lot of difference when I came here like about eight years ago. It’s still the same level and it’s still there so it’s a good team”
