Rabiot: ‘Champions League a factor for my future at Juventus’

Start

Adrien Rabiot confirmed that no decision has been taken on his future at Juventus, but playing in the Champions League next season would be a factor. The Frenchman was speaking with Sky Sport and DAZN (as quoted by TuttoJuve) after the Bianconeri’s 1-0 loss to Roma at the Olimpico and reflected on a tough game, the team’s frustrations with the performance and why he’s confident Juve can bounce back from this latest setback:

“We are all disappointed, we wanted to win, we had to win, because of what we created tonight. We have to accept defeat, and prepare for the next game. We were unlucky, their goalkeeper was good, we were close to scoring, we had a lot of shots . In other matches we played worse and won, sometimes football cannot be explained.

“The Europa League? It’s good to be back on the pitch now, we will prepare for an important home game and then go to Germany more relaxed. We are aware that we are a strong group, we have many matches to play, both in the Italian Cup, in the Europa League and in the league, we have to stay on the ball.

“My renewal? There’s no news on the renewal for now, but we’re calm. We haven’t had further discussions after the meeting with my mother. The club and I are calm and focusing on doing well on the pitch. The situation is a little delicate in this moment, but there will be better days ahead. I’m fine mentally and physically and I’m comfortable here, which is the most important thing. We have still a few weeks to talk and we’ll surely do it.

“Is playing in the Champions League a factor? Sure, it’s important. I want to play at a high level. We can qualify through Europa League or Serie A. It will be a meaningful factor for my future.”
