The Uruguayan midfielder scored the only goal of the night, a rocket of a shot from outside the box, and speaking with DAZN and Lazio Style Channel (as quoted by LaLazioSiamoNoi) after the match, he expressed his happiness with his strike, but why winning is all that mattered against the Partenopei:
“We needed a performance like that, of defensive attention. In some moments we suffered but we were good at staying lucid and at the first opportunity we got it in, that’s how it is in these matches.
“I’m trying my best, I played many years in a two-man midfield, now in front of the defence is a role I like to play, I try to adapt. At the end I didn’t want to change position because I was afraid we would lose balance, instead it went well. For us every point is life, winning here must give us the awareness that we can play against anyone. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes will qualify for the Champions League.
