Napoli are reportedly ready to double the salary of Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in an effort to ward off the interest of Real Madrid and various Premier League clubs. The 22-year-old has been one of the revelations of the 2022-23 season, making a contribution to 32 goals for club and country, while forming a deadly partnership with teammate Victor Osimhen.
The inevitable transfer rumours have begun in earnest, with Liverpool and Real Madrid among the potential suitors for the player dubbed ‘Kvaradona’ by the Neapolitan faithful.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Partenopei are hoping to hold onto their attacking gem for a little while longer, and will double his salary before the season is out in an effort to keep him at the Stadio Maradona for at least a few more seasons.
Napoli will reportedly meet with Kvaratskhelia’s agent in the coming months and improve his current €1.7m per season wage, effectively doubling it to €2.5m with various performance related add-ons, and extending the contract to 2028.
Kvara has managed 12 goals and 15 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopi and is attracting a lot of attention from Spanish giants Real Madrid who appear to be the main contenders for his signature this summer.
