Roma forward Paulo Dybala believes the team played their match against RB Salzburg ‘like a final’ and explained why coach Jose Mourinho is a master at managing games like this. The Giallorossi piled on the pressure in the first half and goals from Andrea Belotti and Dybala effectively sealed, both being set up by Leonardo Spinazzola who was the man of the match. Speaking with Sky Sport Italia after the match, La Joya talked through the game and singled out the guidance of Mourinho as a deciding factor in the victory which puts Roma into the draw for the last 16 of the Europa League:
“We knew it was going to be a very difficult match, we played it like a final, we gave everything we had.”
“Tonight we showed desire and lots of personality. We played a good game and deserved the win.
“In these games I know that I have to give something more even if I’m not 100%. I want to help my teammates and the coach. We were also trying to give something extra for the fans who were spectacular tonight.”
“Mourinho? He knows what needs to be done in games like this one and motivates us to give something extra for the cause. Now we have to think about Cremonese, one game at a time. We must always give our best both in Serie A and in the Europa League.”
