Former Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt insists he never spoke ill of the Bianconeri and that he still follows the club closely. The 23-year-old made the switch to Germany last summer, joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, and speaking to Sky Sports, he reflected on their 1-0 win over PSG in the Champions League and his enduring love for The Old Lady:
“I am satisfied that we didn’t concede a goal, we were also lucky because they cancelled a PSG goal for offside.
“When you play so high with defenders against forwards like Mbappe, who are so fast, you need to have personality. We did very well today.”
“Joining Bayern? I feel good both physically and tactically. This game suits me more.
“Juventus? I always follow them, for me they’re a great club. Things have been said that aren’t true, I understand the fans, but I’ve never spoken ill of Juventus.
“I have a lot of love for the colours of Juventus and their fans, even in this difficult moment the fans always go to the stadium, and I hope Juventus will win many more games and that they can do well both in the league and in the Europa League.”
