OFFICIAL: Nicolo Zaniolo joins Galatasaray

Start

Galatasaray have officially confirmed that Nicolo Zaniolo has completed a permanent move from Roma in a deal worth up to €30m. The 23-year-old forward seemed destined to leave the Giallorossi after a very public falling out with the club management and fans which culminated in his home being targeted by Ultras.

Zaniolo had initially been offered the chance to join Premier League side Bournemouth, only for the deal to collapse late in the day, leaving him with few options to leave Rome before the transfer window closed.

The Turkish FA have now confirmed that Zaniolo has officially joined Galatasaray on a four-and-a-half-year deal, reported to be worth around €3.5m net per season plus add-ons.

His contract includes a release clause of €35m, with Roma set to pocket 15% of any  future resale, netting them up to €5.25m if the clause istriggered.

Galatasaray will pay Roma €16.5m plus up to €13m in add-ons, with reports claiming half of the add-ons are easy to achieve and some that are more difficult.

Zaniolo joined Roma in 2018 and spent 4.5 seasons in the capital, scoring 24 goals in 128 appearances in all competitions for the club.
