Roma have rejected a loan offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Nicolo Zaniolo as they are holding out for better terms. The Giallorossi look almost certain to transfer the 23-year-old during the January window after he refused to be called up for their match against Spezia today.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia report that Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli is ready to complete a transfer to Spurs, but the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement on the players valuation.
The Giallorossi value the youngster at €30-40m and are ideally looking to sell him outright this month, or allow him to leave on loan with an obligation to sign outright him in June.
Spurs are reportedly offering a deal worth €30m, however they have included stipulations on Zaniolo’s permanent transfer that would be linked to appearances and Tottenham’s qualification for the Champions League next season.
For the moment, Roma have rejected the offer but may be open to accepting a loan with an obligation with more achievable targets.
