Juventus winger Federico Chiesa believes the last 12 months have been very difficult for him, but he is focused on getting back to his best. The 25-year-old played from the beginning in the Bianconeri’s 2-1 victory over Monza in the Coppa Italia and scored a stunning solo goal to help them progress to the quarter finals. Speaking after the game, Chiesa talked about his recovery and getting Juve back to their best:
“It’s been a difficult, bad year, now I’m thinking about training and getting back into shape. I have to get back in shape, play, and put minutes in my legs by playing every three days. I’m putting all my strength into helping my teammates.
The Napoli game? We played badly, we were not very aggressive. Even Monza played well against us, but we were concentrated and aggressive, and they struggled to take shots. Then we have the champions, but we have to play better.
As I have always said we have to raise the bar, we think of Atalanta, it will be a fundamental match. Let’s try to bring Juve back to where it deserves to be, the rest will be taken care of by the club.”
