Inter coach Simone Inzaghi believes his team played ‘the perfect match’ against city rivals Milan to win the SuperCoppa. The Nerazzurri put in a comprehensive performance to win 3-0 and speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the game, Inzaghi expressed his happiness with the players performance on such a big occasion:
“We were very good, we played a perfect match. The cup is very important, it was the second goal of the season after the Champions League round of 16. Tonight we enjoy this trophy because winning like this against AC Milan is beautiful. I thank the club and our families, the guys from last year who allowed us to get here and also our fans. Tonight we celebrate, but from tomorrow we’ll start thinking about the other games.
I am super proud of my boys and my staff because we did some incredible things and we will continue to do so. We were focused and aggressive, we pushed and we played in the best way. To win finals you have to do that. We are here to help the boys and to make Inter win trophies.
Best on the pitch? Tonight is very difficult, I think from the first to the last, they did well. The game must be reviewed but after a 3-0 final in a derby it seems inappropriate to elect one”.
