Lazio will be without striker Ciro Immobile until at least next month after he sustained a Grade I thigh strain. The 32-year-old limped off 15 minutes into the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Sassuolo last weekend as he wanted to prevent further damage after feeling a twinge in his leg.
Lazio later confirmed that tests had shown a Grade I tear to the semi-tendon of the right thigh and that Immobile had begun physiotherapy and would be monitored on a daily basis.
Il Messaggero now report that the striker is expected to be out for at least 15-20 days, having already missed 16 games out of 72 with coach Maurizio Sarri at the helm. That puts his expected return date at the first week of February.
Lazio are expected to look for an able deputy in the remainder of the January transfer window, with Torino’s Antonio Sanabria being considered.
