Frederic Massara linked with Juventus director role

Start

A new report from La Gazzetta dello Sport is linking Milan’s Ricky Massara with the sporting director role at Juventus. The Bianconeri are still in the process of rebuilding their management team with Federico Cherubini expected to vacate the SD role in favour of taking up the position of general director.

Gazzetta write that replacing the sporting director is not a priority for Juventus at the moment, but it soon will be, with June expected to be a period of change for the club.

Juve are reportedly looking for a mix of experience and competence for the role and among the candidates (Cristiano Giuntoli from Napoli and Giovanni Rossi from Sassuolo are also on the list) there is one name particularly dear to Max Allegri, namely Frederic Massara, Paolo Maldini’s ‘right arm’ at Milan, and a key architect in the clubs Scudetto win last season.

Massara is considered the ‘right’ profile for the Old Lady; he speaks five languages (in addition to French and Italian, he has mastered English, German and Spanish), was born and studied in Turin, and was a teammate of Allegri at Pescara.

Allegri and Massara have maintained a very solid bond over the years and while the report suggests it won’t be easy to pry him away from Milan, Juve are prepared to try bring him to Turin.
