Romelu Lukaku: ‘I want to stay at Inter’

Start

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku believes the Serie A title race is far from over and explained why he wants to remain with the Nerazzurri. The Belgian international returned to Inter last summer after leaving the club to join Chelsea in 2021, but spent much of the current campaign out with injury. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sky Sport Italia (Reported by FCInterNews), Lukaku discussed the title race, Napoli’s strong form and why he is working to remain at Inter after his loan-spell ends:

Luciano Spalletti is really strong; he’s done a great job we have to say. They (Napoli) have really strong players, I’ve been out and I’ve seen a lot of their games.

Napoli are going through a good period and they’re first in the standings. We have respect them but not be afraid.

Until a team has lifted the trophy anything is possible. That’s the thing, until one has lifted the trophy everything is possible in football.

I always believe in it. That’s why we play football, you have to believe in the impossible. People say it’s impossible for us, but let’s see at the end of the season which team lifts the trophy and are champions.

Nobody has won it yet, we are still there, there are still six months left. The season ends on 6 June, we are not yet on 4 January.

I’m back at Inter and I want to stay here in the future as well: this means that for me, Inter is everything. Everyone knows that, now the team and I have to lead the club to success and then we will talk.”
