Premier League side Chelsea are being linked with a summer move for Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella, if they fail to sign Alexis Mac Allister. The Blues are reportedly keen on Brighton’s World Cup winning star and he is considered one of their top priorities for the summer.
Italian newspaper La Repubblica report that Chelsea are also keeping a keen eye on Barella’s situation at Inter and could make a bid to sign him at the end of the season, should they fail in their bid for Mac Allister.
The 25-year-old still has four years on his existing deal with the Nerazzurri, meaning it would take a significant offer for Inter to part with one of their best players.
Should Barella be sold, the report suggests Inter will turn to Davide Frattesi as his replacement, although that could be complicated by the Sassuolo’s midfielders desire to return to Roma.
