Agent Federico Pastorello has confirmed that Juventus midfielder Arthur is returning to fitness and will remain at Liverpool for the rest of the season. The Brazilian joined the Reds in the summer but struggled for fitness and playing time before being sidelines with a serious injury. Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Pastorello discussed his clients recovery and immediate future:
“The injury was a bad blow (for Arthur). When he got injured, he was in the pre-game tactical schemes and had finally recovered that physical gap from the others that his Juventus situation had created. Among other things, that was an incredible injury, something that happens once every 10 years, unfortunately. And this also cost him the World Cup because he still had hopes since Tite had given importance to this transition to Liverpool.
Putting minutes in the legs he would have had the opportunity to go to Qatar and for this reason too it was a psychologically very difficult injury to digest: however Arthur is a strong boy, he is a determined boy and the proof is the fact that he is burning the candle at the seams to return to the field, is ahead of the three week roadmap. He recovered 30% earlier than could have been expected and should be ready for what is the beginning of the new championship.
In January he remains in Liverpool, 100%. It is an aspect that has never been in question, I do not know who questioned the rumors about his possible return to Turin but it is not so, absolutely. It is not foreseen in the contract and there is no possibility because nobody has questioned his stay: neither Liverpool nor the player.
As for next season, he finishes the current one and then we will see: there is no real right of redemption however obviously by continuing Allegri at Juve there will be a solution to be found. So the moment Liverpool wanted to renew the loan or make an offer in my opinion they would find fertile ground.
The operation in August was born out of stubbornness in looking for something. Liverpool had already previously given signs of technical liking, however, they had no space. We always stayed on the piece by monitoring any injuries and performances of other players: at the same time, we kept in touch with Liverpool’s technical management.
Then we had some luck in the misfortune of others: in August Liverpool had to deal with several injuries and on August 28/29, while we were also negotiating with other clubs because staying at Juventus was the last of the hypotheses, it happened that Henderson gets injured.
At that point we get a call, it was the penultimate day of the soccer market: Liverpool calls us saying they want to close the deal and from there we seriously set to work. We left for Liverpool on the last day of the market for visits and signing.”
