A report from local Florence paper Il Corriere Fiorentino claims that Fiorentina are prepared to activate a clause to extend Sofyan Amrabat’s contract until 2025. The expected extension is to allow La Viola to have ‘full control’ over his potential sale, with a number of Premier League and La Liga sides lining up for him.
Tottenham, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have all reportedly expressed an interest in the Morocco international who has taken the World Cup by storm with his exceptional displays for his national side.
The players agent has confirmed that he is receiving calls from Premier League clubs ‘every day’ as Fiorentina look set to cash in on their midfielder in the January transfer window. Amrabat has a contract with Fiorentina until June 2024, but Il Corriere Fiorentino report that the Tuscans will activate a clause to extend his stay at the club until 2025.
Club directors reportedly confirmed the plan during their annual Christmas meeting with the media on Friday, with the extension allowing them more control over any potential January sale.
