Juventus will be without Leonardo Bonucci and Federico Chiesa for their friendly match against Arsenal while Paul Pogba won’t be back until the New Year. The Bianconeri are set to play a number of friendly matches in the coming weeks as they prepare for the return of Serie A in early January with games scheduled against Arsenal, Rijeka and Standard Liege.
Chiesa returned to action shortly before the international break and featured from the bench for some of the final matches before the World Cup. He has been in training at Continassa with the other players who didn’t travel to Qatar, but picked up an injury during a session yesterday. Reports today confirm that he has a strain on the adductor of the right leg and will not be in team that travels to London.
It’s a similar story for Bonucci who has an inflammation of the adductor longus tendon which will be reassessed in 10 days time. also putting the Juve captain out of the trip to play Arsenal at the weekend.
For Pogba, it’s a slightly unnerving update as he is expected to take at least a month before he returns to action. The Frenchman has returned from Miami in recent weeks and has been following a routine of gym work, swimming pool sessions and individualized therapies. No further problems have emerged that have led to lengthening recovery times, its simply been decided to continue this path for the moment to ensure he is full recovered before returning to the pitch.
