Rick Karsdop fined by Roma

Start

Roma have reportedly fined Dutch fullback Rick Karsdorp for failing to attend group training activities ahead of the clubs trip to Japan. The player was singled out for criticism by coach Jose Mourinho shortly before the international break and there’s a suggestion that their relationship is beyond repair after Mourinho publicly insinuated the player had betrayed the club.

La Repubblica report that Karsdorp is still pushing to leave the Giallorossi in the coming month when the January transfer window opens.

According to the report, Roma are unhappy that the player left the capital to head to Amsterdam before the holidays, followed by a vacation in Thailand. The player has stated that he is suffering from ‘psychological issues’ which the club consider not in keeping with his recent actions.

Karsdorp has once again been called up for Roma’s second mid-season training camp and is expected at Trigoria in the coming days with club General Manager Tiago Pinto still insistent that he will not allow the player to leave on loan. The Giallorossi are only prepared to consider permanent deals and want at least €10 million from the Dutchman’s sale.
