Inter are contemplating on a making a swift move for Borussia Moenchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram in January as opposed to the summer transfer window.
As it stands, the Frenchman’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, making him available for a free transfer within the summer. With his fine run of form of ten goals and three assists in 15 appearances within the Bundesliga so far this season, Bayern Munich are also keen on acquiring the 25 year-old striker on a pre-contract agreement.
According to reports from Milan-based journal La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are opting to sign the Thuram for a fee of 10 million euros during the winter transfer window as opposed to the summer as a method in order to fend off any other club willing to enter a bidding war for the French International’s signature on a free transfer.
Such an ingenious strategy would require the Benemata to sacrifice either Romelu Lukaku or Joaquin Correa up-front ahead of next season in order to make room for Thuram.
