Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante is set to sign a contract renewal with the club and an official announcement is due in the coming weeks. The versatile midfielder has become a mainstay of coach Jose Mourinho’s starting XI and is expected to be rewarded for his strong performances this season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Cristante has already agreed another long-term contract with the Giallrossi until 2027 with an increase in salary to €2.8 million per season. The announcement is expected in the weeks ahead.
The suggestion is that the decision was taken by the club’s top management on the basis of Jose Mourinho’s recommendation as he cannot do without the midfielder, and pushed to have his deal renewed as soon as possible.
Cristante has made 196 appearances for Roma since arriving in 2018, scoring 11 goals in 3.5 seasons to date.
