English talisman Tammy Abraham expressed an apologetic message in the media following Roma’s 1-1 stalemate against Sassuolo.
Despite the former Chelsea striker heading home a brilliant delivery from Gianluca Mancini within the last ten minutes of the game after coming off the bench at the Mapei Stadium, it is safe to say that the Englishman has not been able to find his stride this season.
So far within this year’s campaign, the 25 year-old striker has only obtained three goals and one assist in 14 games-played within the Serie A for the Giallorossi, making everyone question whether his spectacular form last year was just a-lightning-in-a-bottle scenario.
While speaking in a post-match interview, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, Abraham sent out his sincere apologies to the capital club for his appalling form:
Before analyzing the game, I would like to address the fans, teammates, the coach and somehow apologize for not expressing myself on the levels of last season, I was not myself. I am a person, a boy, after all . I went through a difficult moment, with little confidence. Today I wanted to show the fans that it is still me, that I am ready to help the team. There is a match to win before the break and after the break you have to come back stronger than before. “
