Inter CEO Beppe Marotta says that the club will meet with defender Milan Skriniar and his representatives for further contract extension talks this week. The Nerazzurri are in talks with the the Slovakian international over a contract extension, given that his existing deal in Milan ends in June 2023.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of the Champions League round of sixteen, Marotta offered an update on the Skriniar talks and what he expects to happen next:
During this week we’ll have a meeting with his agent, we have to get things wrapped up very soon. He remains very attached to this shirt.
Porto? On paper we’re the favourites, but as always it has to be decided on the pitch.
The Juve loss? I never look at the statistics but here they have to be a cause for us to do a lot of reflecting.
We’ve conceded nineteen goals, of which sixteen have been away, and we’ve lost four away matches.
We’re Inter and we’re not used to these kinds of numbers,” he noted, “we need to do an in-depth analysis of the causes amongst ourselves.”
