Bremer: ‘I wasn’t going to miss this game’

Start

Juventus defender Gleison Bremer explained that he was unwell ahead of the match against Inter but he told the coach that he ‘wanted to be there at all costs.’ The Bianconeri were 2-0 winners after an exceptional second half, aided by an towering performance from the Brazilian centre-back. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the game, Bremer talked about what it meant to win the game:

Today was an important game, in a difficult week. I came from an injury, I had a fever and I was in doubt but I told the coach I wanted to play at all costs. Defensively we did well and thank God we won”.

My role? When one trains well, one can also play in a four-man defence, but with the squad we have, the coach has understood that we play better with three.

What’s changed after the Champions League? It’s difficult to stay higher, the others are ahead. We have pride, character, we have to train and do more to win something. I came here to Juventus and I don’t have the seniority to tell others how to work. Slowly I’m fitting in and slowly we’ll bring out the best of us.”
