Juventus go into Ritiro, Allegri safe for now

Start

Juventus have begun their ‘ritiro’ training camp which is expected to last until this weekends derby match against Torino with coach Max Allegri safe for now. The Bianconeri announced the decision after their latest loss, this time a 2-0 defeat to Champions League opponents Maccabi Haifa.

The team arrived at the Continassa training centre yesterday and will remain there until the end of the week at the very earliest.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that there was a harsh confrontation between club president Andrea Agnelli and the players after the defeat, with Agnelli telling the players that whoever gives up can leave the team in January.

The report suggests that everyone is under scrutiny right now with the management choosing to ‘get rid’ of those players who are not prepared to sacrifice themselves, even at the cost of losing money. Contract renewals are also frozen for now, with both Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro set to leave the club next summer.

TuttoSport add to the news, suggesting that Allegri is safe until November at the least, but after that, it will depend entirely on the results.
