Milan coach Stefano Pioli says he will analyse the 3-0 champions League defeat to Chelsea but they have to concentrate on the next against Juventus. The Rossoneri have been hit with a number of injuries that have seen the squad lose eight key players in recent weeks. Speaking with Milan TV after the game, Pioli offered his thoughts on the loss:
We’ll have to analyse this match with Chelsea well and understand why we didn’t come out with certain situations that are within our reach.
Now we will have to concentrate on the next match that is very important for our season, we will know how to face it.
We did little despite not starting the match badly. We made too many mistakes, we conceded too much space to our opponents. Then the match became difficult.
There were situations where we could have been more aggressive. I think we didn’t dribble well tonight and there were chances to do so.
Chelsea’s pressure was not so strong and continuous. We looked for depth when there wasn’t any, when you look for depth too much you end up stretching yourself so much and that didn’t allow us to be a compact team in both phases.
Right now we have less rotation, especially on the right flank, so it’s up to us to try something else. It seemed like the right time to do it, then we’ll see in the future.”
