The latest Lorenzo Lucca transfer news has revealed that a trio of Europe’s top clubs are pursuing the Udinese forward.
Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Serie A giants Milan are monitoring Lucca ahead of a potential summer bid. The Bianconeri star has caught the eye this season with a number of impressive performances.
Standing at 6ft 7in, Lucca has netted 10 goals so far in Italy’s elite division and provided one assist. Since signing for the Friulians in 2023, the towering striker has netted 21 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a fee in the region of approximately $34million (€30million) could be enough to tempt Udinese into negotiations.
Will Lorenzo Lucca Sign For Arsenal?
It’s no secret that Arsenal have been keen to sign a top-class striker this year. Mikel Arteta’s men have endured a number of injury problems and Lorenzo Lucca could prove to be a cost effective solution.
Although a towering target man, Lucca would thrive with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli providing the ammunition.
The Gunners don’t typically look to play the ball in the air during open play but with someone of Lucca’s stature, he would surely prove a success at the Emirates.
From set pieces, defenders William Saliba and Gabriel have scored plenty of times from corners and free-kicks which further reinforces the above. Although not a world class talent, Lucca could be a huge star in north London.
Is Lorenzo Lucca Good Enough For Milan?
Although Christian Pulisic is set to sign a new Milan contract, the Rossoneri still needs a genuine scorer. Sergio Conceicao’s side have really struggled in Serie A this season.
They currently languish ninth in the standings but have been reliable in front of goal this term. However, Lorenzo Lucca could help propel Milan back to their former glories.
Naturally, the Azzurri international knows the league well and he would likely adapt to the Rossoneri‘s style of play. He would make Conceicao’s side a real threat from set pieces.
Victory in the Coppa Italia final would mean Milan qualify for the Europa League in 2025-26. Something of which could sway Lucca’s decision to transfer from the Bluenergy Stadium this summer.
Why Lorenzo Lucca Would Be A Good Fit For Atletico
Lorenzo Lucca has the potential to make himself a huge hit under the guidance of Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid. The fiery Argentine head coach often signs players who show ‘determination’ and ‘passion.’
In February, Lucca made the headlines after denying standard Udinese penalty taker Florian Thauvin from taking a spot-kick given in the game against Lecce.
Lucca took the kick and scored to clinch a 1-0 win. Although his teammates and coaching staff were furious with him, Lucca demonstrated his own fearlessness. Something of which Simeone likes in his players.
Atleti are renowned for their strong defensive unit with the ability to counter-attack quickly. With Lucca as a target man, he would surely flourish in LaLiga and beyond.
