Lorenzo Insigne Salary: How Much Does The Former Napoli Star Earn At Toronto FC?

Start

Former Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne is among the highest-paid players in the MLS, but what exactly is the 33-year-old’s salary at Toronto FC?

Lorenzo Insigne’s 16-year association with Napoli came to an end in 2022, as he departed for a new challenge in the MLS, joining Canadian side Toronto FC as one of their Designated Players.

A 54-time Italy international, a two-time Coppa Italia winner, a Supercoppa Italiana winner and a European Championship winner in 2020, the 33-year-old is one of the highest-paid players in the division.

But exactly how much does the tricky winger earn? We at FootItalia have all you need to know in terms of his weekly and yearly earnings, courtesy of the MLS salary guide.

Lorenzo Insigne Salary At Toronto FC

Insigne is far and away the highest earner at Toronto, as he takes home a whopping $296,153 a week and $15,400,000 a year.

His compatriot and former Italy international Federico Bernardeschi and Canada international Richie Laryea are the only other two players at the club that earn over $1,000,000 a year.

The former is paid $121,065 a week and $6,295,381 a year, while the latter makes $25,566 a week and $1,329,438 a year.

Jonathan Osorio and Sigurd Rosted make up the remainder of the top five highest-paid players at the club, with Osorio taking home $836,369 and Rosted $755,000 annually.

Where Does Insigne Rank Among The Highest Earners In The MLS?

Unsurprisingly, it is Lionel Messi that tops the salary charts in the MLS, and he does so by quite some distance.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star earns a staggering $393,205 a week, which translates to $20,446,667 annually.

Insigne is second to the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner in the rankings with his $296,153 weekly and $15,400,000 yearly salary, while Messi’s teammate Sergio Busquets comes in at third with a weekly wage of $168,749 and a yearly take of $8,774,996.

Former Juventus and Fiorentina winger Bernardeschi, who, as previously mentioned, plays alongside Insigne at Toronto, is fourth. He earns $121,065 a week and $6,295,381 a year.

Sweden international midfielder Emil Forsberg, formerly of RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, rounds off the top five highest earners, taking home $116,070 weekly, which works out to $6,035,625 annually.
