Prominent football agent Federico Pastorello has shed light on the contract situations of several high-profile Serie A players. Speaking to Radio Sportiva, Pastorello offered updates on Inter Milan defenders Stefan De Vrij and Francesco Acerbi, as well as Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret.
Regarding De Vrij and Acerbi, Pastorello revealed that their futures at Inter Milan are currently in a holding pattern. The club holds extension options for both players, which can be activated by a specific date. “We’re waiting for Inter’s decision,” Pastorello explained. “If they extend, we’ll stay. If not, we’ll explore new opportunities.” He emphasized that both defenders would be content to remain with the Nerazzurri, describing Inter as “a top European club and the dream of many players.”
Pastorello noted that Acerbi has recently overcome injury issues, while De Vrij continues to perform at a high level. The agent’s comments suggest that the ball is firmly in Inter’s court regarding the futures of these experienced defenders.
In contrast, negotiations between Alex Meret and Napoli appear to be progressing positively. Pastorello expressed optimism about reaching an agreement, stating, “We’re very close. I’d be surprised if there weren’t a positive outcome.” He confirmed that Meret has publicly expressed his desire to stay with the Partenopei, though he acknowledged that negotiations involve balancing the interests of all parties.
The agent also touched on other clients, including Arthur, who recently joined Girona on loan. Pastorello revealed that a potential move to Santos fell through due to fiscal complications, despite interest from Neymar in reuniting with his former teammate.
