Santiago Gimenez: “Milan Was Always My Dream”

Start

AC Milan’s latest signing Santiago Gimenez has expressed his excitement about joining the Rossoneri, describing it as a dream come true. The Mexican striker, who recently completed his move from Feyenoord, shared his thoughts in an interview with Milan’s social media channels after witnessing the intense derby against Inter from the stands.

Gimenez revealed his long-standing affection for the club, stating, “Milan was the club I’ve been in love with since childhood. I used to watch Kaká, Beckham, Ronaldinho, Gattuso, Pirlo… all that group of players who impressed the world. Milan has always been my dream since I was little. I have so many photos of myself as a child wearing the Rossoneri shirt.”

The 23-year-old striker is well aware of the expectations that come with playing for a club of Milan’s stature. He acknowledged the pressure that comes with the passionate fanbase, saying, “In football, there’s this great pressure because of all the passion the fans have: a positive or negative result changes their mood for the week. That’s why I always want to leave the field having given my all.”

Gimenez’s first taste of the Milan derby atmosphere left a lasting impression on him. He described the experience as “locura” (madness), adding, “I’ve played against Roma and Lazio in Italy, and I must say that Italian fans live football with great passion. Then yesterday I was at the derby… it was ‘locura’!”
