Parma Calcio have officially announced the signing of Mateo Pellegrino from Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield on a permanent deal, bolstering their attacking options as they continue their campaign in Serie A.
The 23-year-old Argentine striker brings versatility to the Gialloblu squad, having played not only as a centre-forward but also as an attacking midfielder and left winger throughout his career. Pellegrino’s impressive physical attributes and goal-scoring ability make him an exciting addition to Parma’s roster.
With 86 matches and 16 goals to his name, including a notable tally of ten goals for Club Atlético Platense last season, Pellegrino arrives at the Stadio Ennio Tardini with a growing reputation and hunger for success.
Upon signing for Parma, Pellegrino expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m happy to have joined Parma. I’m eager to start working and do well, and I feel ready to play with the team and score goals. I chose Parma because I know all about the Club’s history; I’m aware that many Argentinians like Crespo, Veron, Almeyda and Sensini have played here and made history with this Club, and I want to follow in their footsteps.”
Sporting Director Mauro Pederzoli highlighted the strategic nature of the signing, saying, “Mateo is a young player with very specific technical and physical qualities that we believe the squad needs. He arrives with real motivation, eager to prove himself in our setup and in Serie A.”
