OFFICIAL: Monza Sign Gaetano Castrovilli

Start

Monza have officially announced the acquisition of Gaetano Castrovilli from Lazio on a loan deal that will run until the end of the current season. The Italian midfielder’s move to the Biancorossi was finalized swiftly, with the player having already signed his contract on Thursday, January 30th.

Castrovilli, who joined Lazio from Fiorentina in the previous summer transfer window, has struggled to make a significant impact in Rome. The 27-year-old midfielder made just nine appearances in Serie A this season, accumulating a mere 141 minutes of playing time without registering any goals or assists.

Despite his recent difficulties, Castrovilli brings a wealth of experience to Monza, including several caps for the Italian national team. Notably, he was part of the Azzurri squad that triumphed in the 2020 European Championship (played in 2021 due to the pandemic).

The official statement from Monza reads: “Gaetano Castrovilli is a new Monza player. The midfielder arrives from Lazio on a temporary basis until June 30, 2025.”
