Alvaro Morata’s move to Galatasaray is edging closer to completion following an intense night of negotiations between the Turkish club and AC Milan. The talks, which stretched from January 30 to 31, have resulted in an agreement on the transfer fee structure.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the deal is set to be a loan with an obligation to buy, with the purchase clause fixed at 10 million euros. This figure represents the minimum threshold that Milan was willing to accept, considering that Morata’s value on the club’s balance sheet for the upcoming summer would be 9.75 million euros. Therefore, the 10 million euro fee ensures that Milan avoids any potential capital loss on the player.
This development comes after weeks of speculation about Morata’s future at the San Siro. The Spanish striker, who joined Milan just six months ago, has found himself potentially surplus to requirements following the club’s pursuit of other attacking options, notably Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord.
Galatasaray see Morata as an ideal addition to their offensive line, where he could potentially partner with Victor Osimhen. The move would mark another chapter in Morata’s career, which has already seen him play for top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid.
