Fiorentina Explore Zaniolo Transfer from Atalanta as Winter Window Closes

Start

As the winter transfer window nears its end, Fiorentina are making significant moves in the Serie A market. Fresh from securing Pablo Marì from Monza, the Viola are now setting their sights on bolstering their offensive lineup.

Calciomercato report that Fiorentina’s management is actively seeking an attacking player who can provide relief for Moise Kean while also meeting manager Raffaele Palladino’s tactical requirements. According to respected transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullà, Fiorentina has made initial inquiries about Nicolò Zaniolo, currently playing for Atalanta.

Interestingly, Zaniolo, the former Roma playmaker, was at the centre of a heated transfer battle last summer, with Atalanta ultimately outmanoeuvring Fiorentina to secure his services. However, sporting director Pradè appears determined to reignite Fiorentina’s pursuit of the 1999-born talent, possibly capitalizing on the reportedly tumultuous relationship between Zaniolo and Atalanta’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini.

The current situation presents an intriguing scenario. Fiorentina has recently finalized the transfer of Jonathan Ikoné to Como, creating space in their squad. Meanwhile, Atalanta is exploring the possibility of acquiring Daniel Maldini from Monza. Should Atalanta succeed in bringing in a new player, it could potentially make Zaniolo available for transfer.
