Chelsea are making significant progress in their negotiations with Hellas Verona for midfielder Reda Belahyane, who has been identified as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Cesare Casadei.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that with Casadei’s move to Torino in advanced stages, the London club has wasted no time in securing a suitable successor. Their attention has firmly settled on Belahyane, the promising Moroccan midfielder currently plying his trade in Serie A.
The Blues are reportedly in talks for a deal worth around €15 million, including bonuses. In a clear sign of their serious intent, Chelsea scouts were present at the Venezia-Verona match yesterday to observe Belahyane’s performance firsthand, further indicating that the operation is moving swiftly forward.
After an impressive start to the season, Belahyane has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe. The 21-year-old Moroccan international, born in 2004, has already made 21 appearances in Serie A this season, contributing two assists.
His rapid development hasn’t gone unnoticed at the international level either. Belahyane made his debut for the Moroccan national team last October, marking a significant milestone in his career after coming through the French youth system.
